Advice for Sellers- Get your house ready
- Now that you know you want to move, now is a great time to get rid of all of your unwanted items in your house - have a garage sale.
- Fix any repairs that you know are needed - a buyer will see repairs needed and worry that there may be more.
- Get your yard ready Clean up that yard. If you need to hire a landscape maintenace guy or firm to clean it up, it will be worth it by improving your curb appeal.
- Make sure out door lighting works so people can see your home at night.
- If there are too many shrubs or trees that are hiding your home from the street, think about removing them, or limbing them up. Think curb appeal!
- Choosing a Realtor - Take the time to interview and meet with Realtors in your area so that you are working with the Realtor you like. Have them explain to you what their job is. Let them know what your expectations are.
Adivce for Buyers
If you know that you are going to be moving, take the time to interview Realtors in the area. It's ok to shop on your own but when you want to see the home, don't just call the listing agent. Remember, they are hired by the Seller and represent the Seller.- Check your credit score, make sure it is not less than 620.
- Get pre-approved by a lender. A good lender will help you with making sure your credit score is good and they will help you find the right lending deal for you. They will make sure that you don't waste your time looking at homes that you can't afford.
- Work with a Realtor that you have already met with and like to work with.
